will pray to communism
and won’t see a light.

Superpowers seeking dominance
will pray in the name of Jesus
and He’ll be answering no calls.

They will trust His judgment
and proceed with no less caution.

Freedom walkers will read off
all their fears, one by one,

hoping a prayer is secretly
transmitted in the process.

a fortune teller will believe
on their behalf.

I will pray for rain─
open no blinds,
change no channels,

write no new testaments
or disguise them
as folded whispers.

the day before
will be my dissertation

and I’ll sleep in
until my judgment is called.
